THE team at Knockhatch Adventure Park gathered in the brand-new Blackbeard’s Adventure play area to present a cheque for £9,560 to Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice.
This significant sum was raised over the last 24 months through dedicated fundraising days and ticket donations. The hospice provides essential care for children with life-limiting conditions across Sussex, and these funds ensure that vital support for local families can carry on.
Colin Jaggers, Managing Director of Knockhatch Adventure Park, said: “We visited Chestnut Tree House many years ago. When we saw the children at the hospice, we just knew that Knockhatch would be a lifelong supporter. We are thrilled to have collected such a sizeable amount to help with their brilliant work.”
The fundraising efforts were bolstered by the Sussex Cosplay Alliance and Vaders Raiders. These volunteers frequently descend on the park for the bi-annual charity days, entertaining the crowds and posing for photos with the animals and on the new rides. Their presence has been a huge draw for visitors, with Knockhatch donating a portion of every ticket sale during these events.
Sue Harris, Community Fundraiser for Chestnut Tree House, accepted the donation on behalf of the charity. “This means we’ll be able to continue looking after children in Sussex, not just today, but tomorrow and for many years to come. Supporting families during such difficult times is what we do, so thank you very much to everyone involved.”
