Rubie Geer – Cancer sufferer (11 years old)
At just 11 years old, Ruby Geer has shown extraordinary bravery since being diagnosed with lymphoma in 2023, undergoing intensive treatment and multiple operations. Despite severe pain and mobility challenges, she has progressed from using a wheelchair to swimming, cycling, and walking long distances in just over a year. Alfie Manning – Hailsham Boxing Club
Alfie joined Hailsham Boxing Club to, in his words, “do something for himself and boost his confidence”. He didn’t feel like he was doing very well. He has excelled not only in his confidence as a young teenager but is also winning matches far outweighing his age category and his even turned his school life around. FUNDRAISER OF THE YEAR
Keith Dickman – Hailsham Lions
Keith Dickman has raised funds for numerous charities, including Demelza, YMCA, Prostate Cancer, and local food banks, entirely through voluntary work. He has served as president of the local Lions Club for two years and remains an active member, often seen fundraising on his bike outside the BP garage in Pevensey. Des Parker – Hailsham FM
Des Parker is a dedicated volunteer radio presenter at Hailsham FM, where he hosts the popular Saturday Sessions and Wednesday Breakfast Show, bringing local music and community news to listeners. Hailsham Bonfire Society
Hailsham Bonfire Society has been a cornerstone of the town’s community for decades, organising spectacular torchlit processions, bonfires, and fireworks displays each year. Community Crafters

Through the Dippy Doodahs Community Crafters, the group has created hundreds of metres of bunting for the 80th VE Day celebrations, colourful pennants for Hailsham Festival, and 260 handmade poppies for the Royal British Legion’s Remembrance Day display. 2nd Hailsham Scouts
The Hailsham Scouts provide hundreds of local young people with opportunities to learn practical skills, build confidence, and grow through Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers.
