OUTLINE planning permission for up to 120 homes at Sharnfold Farm near Stone Cross has been formally granted following the signing of a legal agreement.

Wealden District Council issued permission for the development in Hailsham Road on Tuesday, October 13, after a Section 106 agreement was signed earlier this month.

The council’s Majors Planning Committee had resolved earlier this year to approve the application from Hop Farm Real Estate Limited, subject to the completion of the agreement.

The agreement secures ‘affordable’ and self-build housing, alongside financial contributions towards bus travel and leisure facilities.

It also secures off-site highway works in Hailsham Road, including a new site entrance, footways and a pedestrian crossing.

There is also the potential for the road’s speed limit to be reduced to 30mph.

Further information is available on Wealden District Council’s website under planning application reference WD/2025/1738/MAO.
