Now! Charity Group Ltd has received a £1,500 donation from Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes to help deliver its Community Now! project, which provides grants focused on reducing environmental impact and waste across East Sussex.
The funding comes from The Barratt Redrow Foundation, the housebuilder’s charity partnership, which supports children, young people and environmental groups in communities where Barratt Redrow PLC operates across the UK.
Now! Charity Group Ltd supports communities across East Sussex through a range of environmental and social initiatives. Its Furniture Now! service provides affordable new and second-hand household furniture and appliances through stores in Lewes, Eastbourne and Hailsham, alongside a free household collection service across Sussex.
Through its Community Now! initiative, the charity delivers grants of up to £5,000 to community projects, focused on reducing waste and environmental impact through repair, reuse, recycling and upcycling activities.
The organisation also provides NCFE English and Maths qualifications to adult learners across East Sussex.
Caroline Cutress, Trustee at Now! Charity Group said: “Reducing waste and supporting people in our communities has always been at the heart of what we do. This funding from Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes will help us to continue supporting grassroots projects across East Sussex that are making a real difference through reuse, repair and recycling initiatives.”
Phil Hurring, Marketing Manager at Barratt Redrow Southern Counties said: “Now! Charity continues to deliver invaluable support to communities across East Sussex, while also championing sustainability and reducing waste. Having worked with the charity before, we have seen its fantastic impact on the local community firsthand. We are now looking forward to seeing the positive impact these grants will have locally.”
