HAILSHAM Chamber of Commerce has announced it is to hold the town’s first business awards in September.
The inaugural Hailsham Business Awards will celebrate the very best businesses operating across Hailsham and the wider BN27 district, shining a spotlight on the entrepreneurs, independents, start-ups and established firms that help drive the local economy and support the community.
Organisers say the awards have been created to recognise excellence at every level, from small family-run enterprises to larger businesses making a significant local impact. Crucially, the awards will be open to everyone, with members of the public invited to play a central role in the process.
Public nominations will open in April 2026, allowing residents, customers and business owners themselves to nominate any eligible business based in Hailsham and the surrounding area. Organisers have confirmed that businesses will be judged through a combination of public voting, an independent judging panel and professional mystery enquiries, ensuring a fair, transparent and credible awards process.
The awards ceremony will take place on Friday, 25 September 2026, at Blackstock Farm, providing a high-profile setting for what is expected to be a major celebration of local enterprise.
Support for the event has already been confirmed, with Lightning Fibre announced as the headline sponsor. Lightning Fibre is Hailsham’s most local provider of full fibre broadband for homes and businesses and has been praised by organisers for backing an initiative that puts the town’s business community firmly in the spotlight.
Further details, including award categories, judging criteria and nomination timelines, will be released in the coming months. Businesses and residents are encouraged to follow updates via the official website at www.hailshambusinessawards.co.uk.
