LIGHTNING Fibre, based in Eastbourne, has been named the ‘Best Consumer ISP with fewer than 50,000 customers’ by the Internet Service Providers’ Association at the 2023 ISPA awards.

ISPA recognises outstanding excellence in the ISP industry and celebrates 25 Years. The ISPA Awards acknowledge the best and brightest in the industry, and the winners represent the pinnacle of innovation and excellence in the ISP industry.

The ISPA judges recognised that “in this year’s most competitive category, Lightning Fibre storm to victory with their customer focus and charter, community offering and transparency. Well done!”

Tim Passingham, Lightning Fibre’s Chairman, added, “This award reflects the focus at Lightning Fibre on delivering exceptional customer service, supported by our amazing Trustpilot score.

More so, in a competitive market, achieving excellence in every part of the value chain enables businesses like ours to attract and retain customers; we are incredibly proud that our hard work has been recognised by our peers.”

The Internet Services Providers’ Association (ISPA) is the UK’s Trade Association for providers of internet services. Promoting collaboration and constructive dialogue between its members and the wider internet community, ISPA is an all-important driving force for the industry.

Steve Leighton, Chair of ISPA, commented: As we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the ISPA Awards, we are proud to recognise the outstanding achievements of individuals and organisations in the ISP industry. This year’s event highlights the continued importance of digital inclusion and showcases the incredible contributions made by all the award winners. We congratulate them and are excited about the future of the broadband industry.”

Paul Thornton, Lightning Fibre’s CTO, added, “ISPA are the trade association for UK Internet Service Providers, and as such this is a serious recognition for us by our industry peers.  The ISPA awards have been likened to ‘The Oscars of the UK Internet’ – in which case, winning this award is like winning best picture.”
