FIREFIGHTERS have been called to a field fire near Station Road in Berwick, the second in the area in two days.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service received reports of the blaze at 3.12pm today (Tuesday, July 21).
Four fire engines were initially sent to the scene, the blaze affected an area measuring between 500 square metres and 1000 square metres.
By 4.15pm, the incident was being scaled down to one fire engine and several four-by-four vehicles.
Crews remained at the scene damping down the affected area to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.
No casualties have been reported.
The incident comes a day after firefighters tackled a much larger wildfire at Abbots Wood, near Arlington, where around 600 metres by 200 metres of gorse and trees caught fire.
