A LORRY has caused disruption on a busy Hailsham road after part of its load spilt across the carriageway.
The incident happened on Ersham Road around 11am this morning (Monday), where a flatbed lorry carrying large solid metal panels, believed to be ‘Trench Panels’, lost several of them onto the road.
Photographs from the incident show the lorry pulled over while recovery crews and workers assessed the situation and began moving the fallen boards. A crane was called in to lift the panels off the road.
Some of the panels were left strewn across the road surface, while others had slid from the vehicle onto the grass verge.
The road has remained closed whilst the scene is cleared.
